Malaysia

Malaysia has always had a special place in my heart. I was born in the UK and raised in Canada, but my mum is Malaysian, and growing up we took many trips to visit her family. Now, my wife is Malaysian too—so the country continues to be a big part of my life.

These images were taken on one of my visits, when I set out on my own with a camera to capture some of the street food, market scenes and everyday life that make Malaysia so special. It wasn’t a shoot, just me exploring—with the smells, sounds and light guiding where I pointed the lens.
