This five-image series was a creative collaboration between me, props stylist Agathe Gits and food stylist Becks Wilkinson — a reimagining of Christmas through a modern, tonal lens.
We wanted to move away from the usual clichés of red and gold, and instead build a world that felt dressed — almost tailored — in shades of green and silver. Think sharp details, velvet textures, elegant ribbons, and architectural plating. It’s Christmas, but with a sense of restraint and design-led indulgence.
Each setup plays with form and repetition. From sprout-stacked towers and broccoli bonsai to perfectly cubed entrées and sculptural garnishes, we let structure become the storytelling. The food becomes part of the decor — refined, seasonal, and curated like a wardrobe.
The palette is tight, but full of tone and texture: crisp apple greens, deep forest velvets, and mirrored chrome. Highlights come from the reflective surfaces and the play of light across satin, glass, and metal. Every frame is balanced — styled not just for flavour, but for silhouette and atmosphere.
What ties it all together is the sense of occasion. There’s generosity here, but it’s dressed up. A Christmas that’s as much about aesthetic pleasure as it is about feasting.
This series was a chance to celebrate creativity across disciplines — food, props, photography — and to treat festive storytelling with a sartorial edge.
